Julien Courtois started playing the piano when he was 8 years old. Influenced by his older brother,

he started listening to many artists when he was a child: "I grew up listening to artists from very
different musical universes such as Pink Floyd, Tangerine Dream, Otis Redding, Ray Charles,
Gainsbourg, Ennio Morricone, Mozart, Stravinsky or Bartók. Since then my passion for music,
whether from a technical point of view or as a listener, has never left me." Later, his taste for live
music led him into playing with different bands and spending significant amounts of time in gig
halls in France and Europe.  Julien's musical knowledge, his technical experience, and his respect
for the artist's style enable him to bring your music up to it's greatest capacity.

In 2001, he opened his first studio and was successful in creating audio shots, sound mixing and
mastering. During this period, he formed his hearing and developed an understanding of the
necessary steps needed to create discs of musical and audiophile quality.
"Recording a disc is a very complex process.  The work requires patience and a great attention to
details as each step impacts the one that follows...this is the key."

In 2007, Julien took up his most ambitious and perhaps craziest challenge. He produced "Live
recording, mixing and mastering" in the Grand Rex Hall of Paris with the band "Nouvelle Vague". 
He then made it available for the audience to purchase within 10 minutes following the performance!
The results measured up to the expectations of Marc Colin (producer and composer for Nouvelle Vague).

In 2008, Julien created the studio Master+ in collaboration with the prestigious brand Dangerous
Music.He achieved this with the help of the legendary Chris Muth who equipped most of the
internationally famous mastering studios in New York City.
After having built a solid foundation for the studio, Julien decided to expand and hence created
Master+ OnLine, a revolutionary service for e-mastering.
The passionate and more than positive reactions of the Master+ clients confirm that he is for sure
one of the most gifted mastering engineers of his generation.
